Bracket which supports the end of the clutch pedal pivot bolt. Threaded end extends into sheet metal in firewall. This part reduces the stress placed on the firewall caused by the constant back and forth pressures applied every time the brake or clutch pedal are used. This stress eventually creates metal fatigue at the foot well of the firewall. This bracket was installed on later Opel GT's to keep the flex from occurring in the first place.
